Two-fer

Two historic Montgomery sites in one frame: the Greyhound Bus Station (Now The Freedom Rides Museum), and in the background, the site of the most deadly fire in city history...Dale’s Penthouse restaurant (now the Capitol Towers building). The fire on Feb. 7, 1967 killed 26 people.

(ABOVE) A match book from Dales, which also had a location in Birmingham. Fire investigators believe a discarded cigarette in the coat room started the blaze.

Note a previous photo of mine caught the three locations of the Alabama Supreme Court...in the Capitol Building, in a building on Dexter (now encapsulated by an RSA tower) and in the current location across the street.
