Because of Covid (???) or the threat against confederate memorials, the entire capital building is surrounded by gates.
I shot these of the Confederate Memorial on the Capitol Grounds from the street.





The story behind the memorial is fascinating. And it takes on an entirely new meaning these days, with renewed questions about WHY there are so many memorials to the war against the United States.
